Privacy policy

Studio is a private production tool with a single user: the creator who runs it for his own YouTube channel. This policy explains what Studio does with data it gets from YouTube and Google when he connects his account.
What Studio accesses
- YouTube Data API (permission "See, edit, and permanently delete your YouTube videos"): to upload and schedule his own videos, set their thumbnails and captions, add them to his own playlists, post one comment on them, take a scheduled video off its schedule, and read their view counts.
- YouTube Analytics API (permission "View YouTube Analytics reports"): to read his channel's watch time, subscriber counts and audience retention for his own videos.
Studio does not access any other Google data, and never deletes a video.
How the data is used
- To publish and manage the owner's own videos, as described above.
- To show him his progress toward YouTube's Partner Program and where viewers stopped watching.
- Short, plain-language lessons derived from his own YouTube Analytics (for example "most viewers left during a two-minute explanation") may be included in a request to OpenAI's API, which Studio uses to help plan his next episode. No other YouTube or Google data is sent to OpenAI. Under OpenAI's API terms, this data is not used to train their models.
Studio's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Where it is stored
- The Google sign-in token is stored encrypted on the owner's private server, which only he can reach.
- Analytics readings and video information are stored on that same private server.
- Video files stay on the owner's own computer.
Sharing
Studio does not sell, share or transfer data from YouTube or Google to anyone, except the analytics-derived lessons sent to OpenAI as described above. It shows no ads and has no other users.
Keeping and deleting data
Data is kept while the account stays connected. Disconnecting YouTube in Studio's settings deletes the stored sign-in token and revokes Studio's access. Access can also be removed at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. To have all stored data deleted, write to the address below.
